A brief history of Clip 'N Climb
The creators of Clip 'N Climb are John Targett and Tim Wethey, an Irishman and a Kiwi who met on a local community project in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2004, little knowing they would go on to develop a brand new category of action entertainment that would revolutionise indoor climbing. The combination of John's background in the amusement industry and Tim's in the business of designing and building climbing walls was the catalyst for a collaboration that has turned the niche sporting activity of indoor climbing into an exciting and attractive mainstream recreational activity. In March 2005 they established Sheer Adventure to turn their ideas into commercial reality. In September 2006 they opened the world's first Clip 'N Climb at The Roxx Climbing Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand … it was an instant success !
Clip 'N Climb is now the overwhelming market leader in the fun-climbing sector, a market category it created. With over 300 Clip 'N Climb centres worldwide delivering WOW experiences and healthy challenging fun for everyone, the company has rebranded as Clip 'N Climb International to better reflect the global extent of the business.
Clip 'N Climb facilities come in a variety of cleverly designed sizes and each one is a people magnet. From preschool kids to recycled kids, everyone loves the physical and mental challenges of Clip 'N Climb which bring them back time and time again. Hundreds of thousands of fun-loving people have passed through the doors of Clip 'N Climb worldwide. Clip 'N Climb has also been featured numerous times on international television and is fast emerging as a global brand and we like to think … heading for iconic status. We are proud to have created this wonderful brand.
Clip ‘N Climb North Shore was established by proud owners, Derek Bain and Chia-I Liu, in September 2016, 10 years after the first Clip ‘N Climb centre was built. This time, a world’s first indoor climbing centre that’s dedicated to Clip ‘N Climb only was created! The design of Clip ‘N Climb North Shore centre emphases on providing customers optimal fun as well as maximum safety!
